Tendonitis or Chronic Tendon Disease?
Tendonitis is inflammation of a tendon – the thick,
fibrous cords that attach muscle to bone. It causes pain, especially when exercising or doing
repetitive motions. Sometimes your tendon may
also be weak, red, swollen and warm to the touch.
If these symptoms persist past 3 months, you
may have Chronic Tendon Disease.

What is the Tenex Procedure?
Tenex Health’s minimally invasive technology allows patients a rapid and precise option for removing chronic tendon pain without open surgery or lengthy and tedious treatment plans.
How is the Tenex Procedure Performed?
The simple procedure takes place in an outpatient setting. It proceeds with a quick look using diagnostic imaging (such as ultrasound, fluoroscopy, or a C-Arm) to determine the exact source of your pain. A mini-incision is made, and the TX MicroTip is inserted. The procedure is minimally invasive and performed using local anesthesia, requiring only a 3mm microincision, which reduces the risk of infection. The ultrasonic energy precisely treats only the damaged tendon tissue. The surrounding healthy tissue is left unharmed. After the procedure, a sterile gauze is applied. No stitches are required.
What is Recovery Like After the Tenex Procedure?
The procedure can be done without general anesthesia and patient recovery can be within 4-6 weeks. Your Pacific Sports and Spine physician will recommend you rest on day 1 and resume light activity and stretching after a few days. Patient instructions will vary.
